FOG Abatement Training 

The Western States Alliance (WSA), a project of the Pollution Prevention Resource Center (PPRC), is providing technical training in Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) abatement.

1) How to develop an effective FOG Abatement Program

2) How to implement best practices in both a new and an existing program - with emphasis on data.

The training is conducted in a workshop format, especially for water treatment professionals from small, rural communities that do not have a FOG abatement program or a pretreatment program, or that find their current program inadequate.

The 8-hour class focuses on the wastewater conveyance and treatment system, covering four areas:

• What Does FOG Cost and Why Do We Care?
• How to Present the Business Case for your Program
• Determining FOG Loading and Other Program Elements
• Effective FOG Abatement Program Implementation

Participants will receive 0.8 Wastewater CEUs and a certificate of completion for attending. In order to get CEUs, we require folks to take the survey below:

PPRC has received grant funding from the USDA Rural Utilities Service (RUS) to provide technical training and assistance to small, rural communities in FOG abatement.

PPRC complies with applicable Federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex. This training is funded, in part, by a grant from the USDA Rural Utilities Service. While the content is valid for any size of community, the intended audience is pretreatment/water treatment personnel in rural communities, with population less than 10,000. This training is also enlightening for city commissioners and decision-makers, to understand the costs and issues involved with creating and maintaining a FOG Abatement Program.
