Linking Therapists Lives Through Shared Practice: A Narrative Consultation Group
Dates: September 14th 2022 through June 28th 2023
Location: This program is currently scheduled to be fully online using Zoom
Maximum Participants: 2 groups of 8 for a maximum of 16 participants
Instructors: Suzanne Gazzolo, PhD and Matt Mooney, LICSW
This group is for therapy practitioners interested in furthering their relationship with the narrative worldview through narrative practice and building community around shared values and purposes. We are excited to offer a program with a focus on presenting and witnessing each other's work. We ask that interested folx have completed a year-long Narrative training program prior to participation. The wonderful Matt Mooney and Suzanne Gazzolo will co-facilitate the group. Matt and Suzanne were inspired to offer this program after 10 years of weekly learning and consulting together with other colleagues committed to developing skills and relationships aligned with the narrative worldview.
We are offering two consultation groups which will be capped at 8 participants each. Groups will meet twice a month on Wednesdays (12:00-1:30) from September through June for a total of 20, 1.5-hour meetings. The first part of each meeting will be spent revisiting and reconnecting to particular narrative concepts and practices, with readings offered to supplement learning. The second part of each meeting will be dedicated to a participant's presentation of a piece of their clinical work (through audio, video, transcript, session notes). Narrative practices and ethics will inform how we witness and reflect on one another's work. Our intention is to witness the therapist (not the client) in the context of their work and privilege what matters to the therapist.
While not a requirement, we encourage potential participants to reach out to Matt or Suzanne with any questions about the various expectations and hopes associated with this course.
