2022 Lake Association Workshop - Invasive Species 

Register for an invasive species workshop being held for the lake associations of West Lake and Wellers Bay as well as for shoreline property owners on East Lake. 

This event is in partnership with Quinte Conservation and is being sponsored by the West Lake Community Association with support from an environmental grant provided by The County of Prince Edward. 

DRAFT ITINERARY:

10:00-10:30 – Participant arrival and registration

10:30 – Presentation(s)

Learn more about:

• Invasive species present in PEC (especially those impacting shorelines & lakes),
• Species to look out for in the future, and control methods including best management practices and permit requirements for management,
• Aquatic species at risk in the area and stewardship practices to improve shoreline health.

11:30 – Question and answer period

12:00 – Lunch (catered by Isaiah Tubbs)

1:00 – Outdoor invasive species/stewardship walk

• Learn how to identify local, commonly found invasive plants and about the native species that can be planted.

2:00 – Workshop ends
