YOU ARE INVITED TO A SPECIAL NIGHT OF JAZZ WITH THE FAIR OAKS FOUR AT SULLIVAN GOSS.

To keep it interesting around here, Sullivan Goss will be hosting a special jazz set of pieces by John Coltrane as played by FAIR OAKS FOUR – a four piece jazz ensemble with Bobby Woods leading on piano, David Isaac on tenor saxophone, Brian Perske on electric bass, and Malachai Johnson on drums.

This event is being hosted in concert with the current exhibition WOSENE WORKE KOSROF: Beyond Words which features the work The Spirit of Coltrane (seen above). Gallery curator Jeremy Tessmer will talk very briefly about the historic connection between music and abstract painting and about the specific connection between Wosene's approach to painting and American jazz music. The band will also talk about what the music of John Coltrane means to them.

A 30 minute set will follow a brief introduction. Beverages to follow.
