On October 3, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM PST, BreastfeedLA presents The Lactation Lab, a hybrid event featuring Dr. Jack Newman. During this session, Dr. Newman will not only be sharing with us the theory behind clinical practice, but providing hands-on clinical demonstrations LIVE with lactating individuals and their infants. Get an intimate look at the clinical approach and skills Dr. Newman uses to solve the most difficult chest/breastfeeding challenges in this never-before-seen demonstration and case study review. You don't want to miss this.

The in-person event will take place at the California Endowment, located at 1000 North Alameda Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Refunds will not be given if you are unable to attend in-person; however, you still have the option to join us virtually. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, mask, and temperature screening will be required to enter.
Participants will be awarded 4 L-CERPS & 4 Contact Hour.
Objectives:
By the end of the presentation, participants will be able to:
1. Confidently employ problem solving and deductive reasoning skills for advanced clinical lactation practitioners
2. Independently identify the need for and utilization of lactation tools and aids
3. Develop, implement, and evaluate a client-driven individualized feeding plan in consultation with clients and their healthcare team
Speaker
Dr. Jack Newman is a noted pediatrician with over 34 years of clinical experience. He is focused on helping mothers and babies fulfill their desire to breastfeed. Dr. Newman is the co-founder and co-director of the International Breastfeeding Centre, and Newman Breastfeeding Clinic and Institute, where he and his staff have worked with thousands of mothers and babies since 2006.
Dr. Newman previously served as a hospital-based pediatrician. He was the acting director of emergency services at the Hospital for Sick Children and has been an honorary staff member in the department of pediatrics since 2003. Dr. Newman is a prolific author and has published more than 60 articles on breastfeeding, as well as the book “Dr. Jack Newman’s Guide to Breastfeeding” which has been translated into several languages.

After the webinar a recording will be sent to all registrants to view for up to 2 years, therefore no refunds will be granted. It is the responsibility of the participant to view the recording while it is available.
Refunds will not be granted if you have purchased an in-person ticket, and are unable to attend the live event for any reason.
Payment Policy
Payment must be made during the time of online registration using a credit or debit card. If you need to make alternate payment arrangements such as a company check to be mailed to BreastfeedLA, you MUST pay the General Registration rate and contact info@breastfeedla.org. No Early Bird registration rates will apply to payments by check. This policy is in effect as of Aug 1, 2017.
Continuing Education Credits
RN: BreastfeedLA is an approved provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing. This course offers 4 contact hours of continuing education. BreastfeedLA’s provider number is CEP 16435. Licensee must maintain certificate for a period of four years.
IBCLC: BreastfeedLA is an approved Long-Term Provider by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners #CLT113-36. 4 L-CERPs will be awarded.
RDs & OTs: Maintain a copy of the agenda and certificate for CPEs for Professional Development Portfolio.
