"Created in His Image: Exploring the Theology of the Body"

Theology of the Body doesn't have to be daunting. Come learn how God's design for our body and soul make sense. This event is primarily aimed at Catechists/Religious Education teachers and School Teachers, but all parents and adults are welcome to come learn and be equipped to pass on this relevant teaching.
Parish Catechetical Leaders and Catechists in the Diocese of Duluth are invited to join us for a one-day program on the Theology of the Body. Explore St. John Paul II’s teachings on the Theology of the Body and how you can lead your students to understand what it means to be made in the image and likeness of God, male and female. You’ll also explore ways to appropriately teach about purity as well as other sensitive topics related to the human body.
You'll also receive a free copy of Human Sexuality: Understanding and Living the Theology of the Body, a supplemental teacher's guide packed with fully-developed lesson plans and activities that will help you bring your students into a deeper understanding of the Theology of the Body.
This Workshop blends scholar presentations with interactive pedagogical sessions, giving you a chance to explore content with a respected scholar, as well as explore and simulate practical teaching strategies with ready-to-use classroom materials. Share best practices with your fellow teachers, enjoy continental breakfast and lunch, engage in both formal and informal discussions, and participate in Mass.
Cost: $25. Contact your parish's Director of Faith Formation or Youth Minister for a coupon code to attend for free using a grant from the CREED Fund if you are a Catechist/Religious Education Teacher or a Catholic School Teacher in the Diocese of Duluth.

Presenters:
Jose Gonzalez joined the team at Sophia Institute for Teachers in 2014 after more than 10 years as a Catholic high school teacher. In addition to teaching, Jose has experience working in parish and diocesan ministry. Jose has led over 300 of our Workshops in over 50 dioceses, and contributes regularly to our teacher's guides and digital instructional resources. He has a BA in theology with a concentration in religious education from Franciscan University of Steubenville, and an MA in evangelization and catechesis from the Augustine Institute. Jose and his wife, Mary Beth, have four children.
Dr. Donald Asci is Professor of Theology at Franciscan University of Steubenville, where he has been a member of the Theology Department since 1998. He received his Bachelor of Arts in theology from Franciscan University, a Masters in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies in Marriage and the Family in Washington, D.C and both a Licentiate and Doctorate in Sacred Theology from the Pontificia Universit della Santa Croce in Rome, Italy. He has also served as Visiting Professor of Moral Theology at the International Theological Institute in Gaming, Austria. He has given numerous presentations in Europe and the US on Pope St. John Paul II’s teachings on sex, love, and marriage. Dr. Asci has published a book as well as several articles on marriage and sexual morality. Dr. Asci currently resides in Steubenville, Ohio, with his wife, Michelle, and their six children.
