Phnam Bagley to be interviewed by Stephanie Lin, Dean of The School of Architecture
A designer of the future of everything, on and off planet Earth, Bagley co-founded San Francisco-based Nonfiction, a design firm that turns science fiction into reality for a better future. She is a French industrial designer, futurist, and aerospace designer creating cutting-edge hardware and experiences in wearables, healthcare and wellness, education, robotics, transportation, and serospace. Bagley specializes in turning groundbreaking technologies into attainable, intuitive, and beautiful products and experiences that help humans become the best versions of themselves.

William Bates, FAIA to be interviewed by Maurita Harris, AIA, NOMA Arizona President
An architect and adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Bates is a nationally recognized thought leader in the architecture profession. He was the second-ever African-American to serve as national president of the AIA in 2019. Bates was the vice president of real estate for Eat’n Park Hospitality Group, where he was responsible for the restaurant growth division. Previously, he managed the global design and construction of 1.4 million square feet of office, laboratory, and manufacturing space with Marconi Communications, Inc.

Kerenza Harris to be interviewed by Susannah Dickinson, Associate Professor at University of Arizona CAPLA
An architect and associate principal at Morphosis in Los Angeles, Harris is helping the firm to develop automation systems and parametric tools that can be integrated from the earliest concept design stages through fabrication. She was part of the project team for the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas. Kerenza Harris holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arizona and a Master of Architecture from the University of California Los Angeles. 

Daniel Inocente to be interviewed by Ryan Smith, Director of University of Arizona CAPLA
Inocente just began in his role as space architect for Blue Origin in September after years designing technically sophisticated tall buildings as an architect at SOM in New York. Inocente emphasizes the human experience and design innovation by leveraging building science, design technologies, and interdisciplinary expertise. He has created and nurtured interdisciplinary partnerships with space-sector partners such as ESA, NASA, MIT, and private companies. These initiatives reflect his passion the important role we have in contributing to future thinking about humanity's progress through social, technological, and cooperative endeavors.

Joseph Kunkel, Associate AIA to be interviewed by Ronald Rael
A citizen of the Northern Cheyenne Nation, Kunkel is director of MASS Design Groups’ Sustainable Native Communities Design Lab in Santa Fe, New Mexico. MASS Design Group is the national 2022 AIA Architecture Firm Award recipient. As a community designer and educator, he is working on a growing portfolio of work in Indian Country focused on the research, design, and construction of exemplary Native American Indian housing nationwide. In 2019, he was awarded an Obama Foundation Fellowship for his work exploring transformational change that aligns with indigenous values and honors the worldviews of Indigenous populations. Kunkel is working towards developing lasting impact within American society where Indigenous peoples have a seat at the table. 

Ronald Rael to be interviewed by Brittany Corrales, Curator of ASU Art Museum
A designer, architectural researcher, author, entrepreneur, and thought leader in the fields of additive manufacturing and earthen architecture, Rael is the Eva Li Memorial Chair in Architecture in the Department of Architecture in the College of Environmental Design as well as a member of the art faculty in the Department of Art Practice at UC-Berkeley. He is the author of Borderwall as Architecture: A Manifesto for the U.S.-Mexico Boundary, an illustrated biography and protest of the wall dividing the U.S. from Mexico (featured in a TED talk by Rael), and Earth Architecture, a history of building with earth in the modern era. Rael San Fratello, the studio he co-founded with architect Virginia San Fratello, installed “Teetertotter Wall,” three pink see-saws on the US-Mexico border, and the studio's work is currently in a special exhibition at the ASU Art Museum.

Angela Watson, FAIA to be interviewed by Kathy Hancox, AIA, 2022 President of AIA Arizona
The Phoenix-based President/CEO of Shepley Bulfinch, Watson was named to the 2022 Most Influential Women in Arizona list by Az Business and AZRE magazines. A passionate teacher and mentor, she has taught design at MIT and ASU and has been a lecturer and visiting critic at the Center for Health Systems Design at Texas A&M. She has served on the board of directors of the Boston Society of Architects (BSA) and was featured in Leadership for Change in the Workplace, Community and Design (2004, BSA Women in Design). A registered architect in 19 states, Watson earned a master’s degree in architecture from MIT.
