Please join us for our October 2022 chapter meeting! Our speakers will be Mr. David Bemporad and Ms. Lyda Creus Molanphy. The will give a presentation titled "Great Springs Project.”
Great Springs Project is working to conserve 50,000 acres of protected lands between Austin and San Antonio over the Edwards Aquifer recharge zone. These green spaces will be connected by a network of spring-to-spring trails, linking four of Texas’ iconic springs: Barton Springs, San Marcos Springs, Comal Springs, and San Antonio Springs.
As a regional nonprofit incorporated in Texas, GSP works locally, helping organizations, city and county governments, and project partners catalyze and enhance on-the-ground trail and conservation efforts in Travis, Hays, Comal, and Bexar Counties. As a part of this legacy project for all of Texas, Great Springs Project brings forward unique opportunities to engage with transportation, drainage, and park space challenges.
In their presentation, Great Springs Project will discuss implementation of their mission; coordination with local cities, counties and other partners; and how GSP works collaboratively to make this 100+ mile trail network a reality.
Check-in and networking will start at 11:30 am with meeting/presentation following at 12:00 noon.
