Stress Inoculation and Recovery Training for First Responders

Stress Inoculation and Recovery for First Responders is a three-hour interactive training built on clinical and lab-based research. The training will examine the impacts of cumulative stress on the brain and body, and equip first responders to recover quickly and effectively in the field and at home. Responders will identify their own “perfect storm” combination of instigation, anger, stress, sleep deprivation, alcohol, and other factors that predict moments of self-sabotage. We will practice tactical skills to inoculate against stress from all sides – runs, administrative, couple, and family. Brain-based resilience is the norm. First responders will leave with confidence in identifying when their natural recovery from stressful events has been interrupted, and how to handle this proactively, to improve their ability to serve.

This training is free thanks to a grant provided by the Heath Resources & Services Administration.
