Program Description:
With Labor Day behind us, many firms are increasing pressure on employees to return to working from the office. According to data from consulting firm Gartner, 69% of mid- to large-sized employers say they require employees with jobs that can be done remotely to be at the office a set number of days. Of that group, 25% require employees to be on site three days a week; and 16% are opting for a two-day minimum. A small number (4%) require just one day, while only 5% require workers to be in the office five days a week. Another 4% say they are requiring employees to show up either one day a month (2%), or one day per quarter (2%). A full 31% said they have set no minimum.

While in other parts of the country firms have been full-time back in the office for some time, coastal metro areas like the Bay Area have lagged and remained mainly remote or hybrid thus far. Anecdotal evidence points to local RIA firms following this trend. Most RIA firms seem to have landed on some sort of hybrid model, with a few remaining fully remote. While there might be a few RIA firms in the Bay Area that are now requiring their employees to work from the office 5 days a week, they are few and far between.

Join us in a panel of peers to explore how local RIA firms have navigated this tricky issue of the right approach for their firms in returning to the office, or not. We’ll explore the considerations behind their decision. They’ll share how they addressed areas like data security, employee productivity, company culture, collaboration and recruiting in a mostly virtual world.

Afterwards, continue your conversation with your peers in a holiday networking event.

*This is a practice management topic.
