Your Impact Matters: Awareness, Action and Accountability for our Climate!
The FLI is thrilled to be hosting the 2022 Finger Lakes Youth Climate Summit at Hobart and William Smith Colleges on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm. We invite you to bring a team of students to launch your school env. class or club's climate change action projects for 2022! This year's Keynote Speaker is Aryaana Khan, environmental scientist, poet and organizer working to address the climate crisis. She is currently a resident of New York City -- but was born and raised in Bangladesh, a country annual submerged underwater as a result of climate change.
About the Summit
The Finger Lakes Youth Climate Summit is a one day conference during which high school students learn about the science behind climate change, impacts on the Finger Lake region and what they can do to combat climate change. Students work with their classmates to develop a Climate Action Plan to tackle an actionable project at their school. At the end of the summit, students will leave with a plan to initiate action in their schools and communities, new friends from other schools, and a sense of determination and empowerment to make positive change for the good of the environment!
