The Understanding Dementia in the African American Community forum addresses gaps in the lack of resources and awareness regarding dementia in the African American community. Our community forum, led by Dr. Fayron Epps and Alter Program Team Associates, provides attendees with an overview of dementia, brain health strategies, and community resources to help attendees address memory concerns. Community forums also include a short presentation from a community partner with relevant content and conclude with a Q&A session. The duration of our forums are approximately 2 hours in length and attendees are offered free memory screenings and referrals to resources as needed.
