Parents as Allies

While parents are the primary sexuality educators for their children, we don’t always take the time to engage and share this role with them when teaching sexual health topics in school. Maine Family Planning is partnering with Jennifer Wiessner in this webinar session specifically focused on understanding and engaging parents. Jennifer will share her experiences working with parents and provide strategies to build meaningful “allyships’ with parents of children for all ages. We hope you will join us with your questions, experiences and successes in working with parents and guardians to support the sexual development of young people.

Webinar objectives:

During this webinar, participants will:

1.  Explore parent/guardian perspectives that can support sexual health education in schools.

2.  Identify challenges that can hinder parent/guardian support for sexual health education.

3.  Explore creative strategies for engaging parents/guardians and promoting allyships with parents/guardians.
