Many issues that shape the quality of our lives have an international dimension. Global economic interdependence is now a reality that no nation can ignore. The development of appropriate environmental strategies, the resolution of regional conflicts and the enhancement of human rights all require a global perspective.

The World Affairs program includes:

1. The introduction of important global issues to the students and local community
2. Exposure to a variety of viewpoints from other countries
3. Promotion of global awareness

This conference is unique in the state of Nebraska and given the geographic location of Nebraska in the center of the continental United States, this conference is, for many people, their best chance to interact with representatives of other cultures. All events are open to the public and there is no admission charge.

Other elements to know:

• All sessions will be held in the UNK - Union
• Live Streamed sessions will NOT be recorded
• A wide variety of lunch options are available at the Union for a nominal fee.

An art display will be hosted in the Walker Art Gallery. There will be three exhibits for viewing:

• Six immigrant artists in the United States
• Prints coming from Wroclaw, Poland
• An exhibition of photographs from Mikolaiv—a city in southern Ukraine
