On November 10, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM PST, BreastfeedLA presented Dr. Christopher Zimmerman and "COVID-19 Vaccine Updates and Monkey Pox- What Families and Health Care Professionals Need to Know." Dr. Zimmerman discussed who is eligible for the COVID vaccine, safety of the vaccine for children, lactating and pregnant individuals, options for vaccines, updates and recommendations. Additionally, Dr. Zimmerman provided the latest information on Monkey Pox for the 0-5 population and lactating individuals and what the current recommendations are.

2. Discuss the safety of the COVID vaccine for children, lactating and pregnant individuals.
3. Discuss the latest research around Monkey Pox and the 0-5 age population.
Speaker
Dr. Zimmerman in board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and holds a Master’s in Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health. He is currently the Deputy Medical Director for the Communicable Disease Control Division of Orange County Healthcare Agency. He has spent his public health career working on vaccine preventable disease control with organizations such as the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Most recently, he was a primary care provider and medical director for Federally Qualified Health Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
