BIB WHAT? What Library Staff Should Know about BIBFRAME - Webinar (01/17/2023)

Have you heard the term "BIBFRAME" but have no idea what people are talking about? Are you wondering how BIBFRAME will change libraries? Do you wonder what big changes may be on the horizon for YOUR library? In this session, we'll talk about BIBFRAME, look at the impact of BIBFRAME on libraries, why we are (likely) moving to BIBFRAME, and why now is the time to start learning about BIBFRAME.

Resources: Slides, Readings for future study and resources for BIBFRAME experimentation.
Audience: All staff interested in working with metadata, cataloging, or the future of resource description work.  No technical services or coding experience is needed for this session which may also be of interest to directors, managers, and any library staff interested in data, technical services, or significant changes on the way that will impact all libraries!

Virtual Trainer: Robin Fay

Robin Fay is a metadata and cataloger expert trainer. With over 15 years’ cataloging and metadata experience including for the Library of Congress, University of Georgia Libraries, University System of Georgia Documentation Group, Orbis Cascade Alliance, among others, Robin combines real life experience with a warm and enthusiastic training style. Robin is a sought after speaker and trainer, having trained staff at all levels in public and academic libraries, in addition to archives and special collections.

This is an online class. Access information will be emailed one week ahead.
