Analyzing Collections: A Data-Driven Approach - Webinar (03/08/2023)

What can our data tell us about our collections? Can we use data to guide our decisions about collection management? The short answer is Yes!

In this session, we'll talk about different data driven strategies in terms of analyzing collection usage, collection relevance, and much more. Do you have outdated materials in your library? Most likely! Should you be collecting or archiving those materials or are they part of your general collection gathering dust? That's a good question! How does your collection reflect the needs of your community? We'll explore the role of System/backend reports, Google Analytics, vendor tools, statistics gathering, and even very easy-to-do analyses that can be done from the public interface.
This session will have something for everyone looking to evaluate their collections through data and inform your collection development practices.

Resources: Slides, an entire folder of resources, a resources sheet, articles for future exploration, and much more!

Audience: All library staff and administrators
