Building Opportunities for Business (B.O.B) 2023

Join us for the recommencement of the Building Opportunities for Business (BOB) breakfast series. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the BOB Breakfast series was the premier networking and construction update event for Alameda County Public Works Agency. We look forward to rekindling the tradition with you in 2023!

Join us to learn more about upcoming construction contracting opportunities in 2023 with:

  • Alameda County Public Works Agency
  • East Bay Municipal Utilities District (EBMUD)
  • Alameda County Transportation Commission
  • The Port of Oakland
  • AC Transit
  • Merriwether & Williams Insurance Services
Take this opportunity to network with other firms and key Agency representatives. We encourage small, local, disadvantaged, minority, and women contractors to attend.

Face masks are encouraged and appreciated.

What is the Building Opportunities for Business Program (B.O.B.)?

Building Opportunities for Business (BOB) was created by the Alameda County Public Works Agency to:

  • Promote economic growth, local employment, and business development within Alameda County
  • Partner with other agencies (Alameda County General Services Agency, AC Transit, Alameda County Transportation Commission, East Bay Municipal Utility District, and others) to present upcoming construction, professional services and supplier vendor opportunites
  • Sponsor business development and technical assistance workshops, including the highly successful Annual Contractor Academy, which helps small, local businesses to become competitive public contract bidders
  • Host networking events that promote local business-to-business and business-to-agency relationship building
  • Increase the number of local Minority, Women, Disadvantaged (M/W/DBE) and Small Local Emerging Business (SLEB) contractors and consultants that participate in the Agency’s contracting process
  • Assist prime contractors to meet business participation goals associated with the County’s Construction Compliance Program and Federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program
