CSLRA Sacramento Visit

March 8 - 10, 2023

Join us in representing the short line railroad industry at the 2023 California Short Line Railroad Association "Lobby Day" on March 8 - 10.  This event is a excellent opportunity to learn about current legislative and regulatory issues and to let your voice be heard in the Capitol in Sacramento.  In particular our discussions will focus on the CA Air Resources Board (CARB) In-Use Locomotive Regulation, which is of critical importance to our industry.

Plan to arrive in the late afternoon on Wednesday March 8 for informal networking opportunities.  For CSLRA Board Members, there will be a Board meeting the evening of March 8.

We will have a full agenda beginning on the morning of Wednesday March 9th at the Sheraton Grand Hotel Sacramento during which we will hear information on current legislative issues, updates from BNSF and UP governmental afffairs departments, and updates from state/federal railroad and transportation officials.  In the afternoon, because of the Capitol building being under construction, we will have meetings with legislators and staffers in their temporary office building known as the "Swing Space."  Following the meetings with legislators we will have an informal late afternoon-early evening reception for attendees.

After completing our important work on March 9, on Friday March 10 attendees are invited to a brunch/excursion trip on the nearby Sierra Northern Rwy, starting at approximately 10 AM and concluding at 1 PM.  The starting/ending point is near to SMF Airport.

We have a limited block of rooms at the Sheraton Grand Hotel Sacramento for the evenings of March 8 - 9.  This room block will close on February 15, 2023.   Please reserve as soon as possible.  The event registration response email includes a link to the hotel room block, and the link will also be posted on the CSLRA web site.
