The Full Training Experience  -  ONLINE
MMS succesfully migrated our mediator training program to an online platform, receiving the same high praise which we consistently received for our in-person trainings. This training will take place in 10 3.5 hour segments. We have reduced the "full day" components from our traditinal face-to-face trainings. This training will take place on a “Zoom” platform and will consist of:
  • Six “shorter” days of 3.5 hour sessions and
  • Two “full” days, each made up of two 3.5 hour sessions.

Aren’t 3.5 hour or 7 hour days on Zoom too much?

We have continued to receive very positive trainee responses to this online program. Trainees find the program tolerable and, even, enjoyable because: Almost every 3.5 hour session of MMS’ mediator trainings includes one to two hours of participatory role play mediation exercises. Trainees find these to be very engaging, challenging, and fun. Time flies. Each of these role play sessions are preceded by one or two topical presentations or activities and each role play is followed up by a brief discussion back in the large group. In this online version, we have reduced the full days to only two. In this way, the full training still can be completed in less than three weeks, rather than be stretched out over a longer period of time.

  • With minor adjustments, this is the same mediator training MMS has offered on our premises for 35 yrs.
  • Time will not be taken away from basic mediation and conflict resolution concepts, process, and skills to address the technical skills of on-line mediation. For trainees who have an interest, a follow-up program will be offered addressing those additional skills.
Online participation requirements:
  • Reliable internet connection
  • Equipment necessary to participate in a Zoom meeting, including a laptop/desktop computer equipped with a working camera, microphone, and speaker. Tablets are not recommended. Attendance via smart phone will not work
  • Full availability for and commitment to the full training schedule
  • Ability to participate in all sessions without distractions or interruptions
