Join our intrepid Conservation Manager Mashuri Waite for a fulfilling morning nurturing native Hawaiian plants, removing invasive weeds, and helping expand the renewed native ecosystem at our enclosure on Palehua.
Please wear covered shoes with good treads, sturdy work clothes (long pants and long sleeves) and bring your own gloves and bottle of water. Be prepared for sun, rain and possibly mosquitoes. Bring a backpack to carry snacks or a packed lunch.
You will be met at the Community Center by our Conservation Manager, Mashuri Waite, and carpool to the work site. Please don’t be late, as you need to be with the group to pass through the two locked gates on the Palehua property. We will provide tools, but feel free to bring your own if you wish.
Be prepared to walk about a mile on a forest trail and to use tools such as loppers, scythes, machetes and shovels. There’s an incredible view along the way!
Be sure that you have completed your waiver on SmartWaiver first!
If you have completed a SmartWaiver for us within the past 10 months, then you do not need to sign it again, so long as your information and that of your emergency contacts remains the same.
