What is Get Fit?

Get Fit is an incentive based exercise program for full-time Waynesboro City employees.You can participate and earn rewards for your effort to get fit and stay fit!

THE DETAILS

Starting January 1, 2023 you will be able to earn points toward rewards. Registration will open on January 11, 2023.  The program ends December 31, 2023.

2023 REWARDS

*In accordance with IRS guidelines, any items redeemable for general merchandise or having a cash equivalent will be subject to taxation.  Items subject to taxation have been denoted with an asterisks (*). Items subject to tax will be aggregated and the corresponding tax withheld in accordance with the recipients elected payroll withholdings on a quarterly basis.  If you have any questions, please contact the City’s payroll office at 540-942-6603.

 

HOW TO EARN REWARDS

1) Register. 

2) Earn points. Starting January 1, 2023 you can use one option or a combination.

ONE POINT PER DAY PER EMPLOYEE

Gym

• Submit your monthly gym login report- Your attendance can be requested at the front desk of your local gym.  Submit via email or paper delivery to the Parks and Recreation office by the 5th of each month.

Walk or Run

• Submit your fitness app (FitBit included) monthly summary- Walk or run a minimum of 2 miles, have 20 minutes of fairly/very active steps, and 6,000 steps. Active minutes are defined as walking with the intent of exercise. For example, steps around the grocery store or to the car are not considered active steps. 

Races

• Participate in any official race (run or walk), submit your registration, and recieve one point per mile toward yout Get Fit total.

Pandemic Points

The pandemic has made us focus on the importance of taking care of ourselves. We will continue to count the following towards points: 30+ minute home workouts, yoga, and/or hikes. The goal is to keep active! 

3) Submit points.

Each month, any participant submitting points (at least one) will be eligible for the door prize, so be sure to turn in whatever you've earned!

At the end of each month your points will be totaled...check out the table above for the goods! Submit your points by 5pm on the 5th day of each month. Stay updated with GetFit Waynesboro emails.

4) Recieve rewards. In months you earn a reward you will be notified by email. Once you are notified you can look for your reward to be in your mailbox in the coming days!
