February 18, 2023 Hybrid Presbytery Gathering (In Person or via Zoom)

Dear Friends in Christ,

I am pleased to invite you to the upcoming gathering of business, education, dinner and worship on February 18, 2023. This will be a hybrid meeting venued at West Granville Presbyterian Church, my home congregation, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. You have the option of attending in person or joining us virtually. Whether you feel comfortable meeting in person or prefer to attend remotely, together we will celebrate our fourth in-person Presbytery meeting since COVID hit us, and my final meeting as Moderator of the Presbytery.

The theme for this meeting will be Ecclesial Health, one of the Seven Marks of Ministry Vitality. Renowned author and speaker Tod Bolsinger will lead the education portion of our meeting, and will deliver the sermon during the worship service. (Be sure to join him the Friday before our gathering for a retreat on "How NOT to Waste a Crisis" at Cedar Valley Retreat Center, with the ability to stay overnight to be closer to West Granville for the Saturday gathering. The registration link for both in person and virtual attendance is provided below. For those attending Saturday's gathering in person, we will share a sit-down hot lunch at West Granville between the business meeting and worship. The cost of lunch will be $10.00 When you register we encourage you to pay for dinner via credit card, or indicate that you will bring cash or check to the event, so we can let West Granville know how many to expect for lunch.

We ALL will share in communion whether virtually or in person, and we will provide communion elements to those who attend in person.

The offering at this gathering will be held by Presbytery to fund pastoral sabbatical resources, in keeping with the Ecclesial Heath mark of vitality. We will have a basket for the offering outside the sanctuary, but you can donate in advance by sending a check to the Presbytery.

We remain mindful that COVID remains a concern for all of us. Although masks currently are optional at West Granville, attendees are welcome to wear masks. If the mask policy changes between now and February 18th, we will inform you before the meeting.

We look forward to sitting at a table of community and communion together on Saturday, February 18th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please note the 10:00 meeting start time.
