30 Hour Problem Gambling Basic Training

This is a self-paced course. 

Once registered you will have 90 days to complete the course

30 CE from IAODAPCA

This 30 hour training series will highlight all the beginning needs for counselors and other addiction trained professionals of the needs for patients struggling with Problem Gambling Issues. Each participant will have an indepth understanding of Problem Gambling patients and the best methods of treatment.

Dr. Harwell (D. Min, LPC, ICGC-II, BACC) received his doctorate in ministry from Southern Methodist University and has over 15 years of experience in treating gambling disorder leading OAPGG. He served on the NCPG board for 6 years and as board president from 2015–2017.  

Dr. Rugle (PhD, ICGC-II/BACC) earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Kent State University and has 30 years of experience in treating and researching gambling disorder, and administering gambling disorder programs. In 2019, she received the Robert Custer Lifetime Award from NCPG. Additional gambling disorder BACC trainers will be invited to present as necessary. 

During the course of this 30-hour training, there will be various topics covered from an introduction to problem gambling to best practices and treatment plans for those struggling with a gambling problem. Below is a breakdown of the specific topics you can find within the training.
