Join NASW-NM for Student Legislative Advocacy Day on February 23, 2023 from 9am - 3pm. This will be the first year we are back in person and we are looking forward to seeing students in Santa Fe! SLAD is an educational event that teaches social work students the importance of getting involved in advocacy and policy to create change and promote social justice.
Event Details:
We will meet at the CYFD PERA Building at 9am. Parking is free and is available in the west and east parking lot of the building. Check in begins at 8:45am, please try to arrive early. We will start with introductions of our NASW staff and presenters. This year's theme is Child Welfare and the presenters will speak on this topic in the context of advocacy and social justice. Dions will be provided for lunch from 12-1pm followed by a group visit to the roundhouse to meet with legislators, observe sessions, and tour the capitol building.
