2023 Summer Family Fun Days

Join us for Family Fun Days, a series of classes designed for children 6-12 years old and their parents/guardians. These hands-on classes are held mostly outdoors to help your family connect with nature! All classes are 10 am- 12 pm on Wednesdays. The cost is $8 per person (adults and all children over 4). Feel free to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the grounds after class.

Trek to the Trinity June 14th Wear long pants and closed toed shoes because we're walking to the East Fork of the Trinity River and learning about the history of the area along the way! This is the only class not accesssible by wheelchairs or strollers.

Insect Scavenger Hunt June 21st Let's head out onto the boardwalk and look for the Wetland's Most Wanted insects!

Macro Investigation July 12th We're grabbing our nets and leaning about the creatures that live in the wetland water.

CSI: Combine Bones in the Wetland July 26th Families will learn how to identify mammals, birds, and reptiles by studying the skeletons of some native creatures that reside at the wetland.

Trail and Outdoor Safety for Families Aug 9th What should kids take on a day hike, and what to they do if they get lost? We'll be learning these topics and more in addition to practicing some survival skills while out on the boardwalk.

The cost is $8 per person; this includes all children over 4 years of age and their accompanying adults. Space is limited, and online registration is required for attendance.
