From direct-to-consumer/DIY orthodontics to magic potions to cure periodontal disease to new technologies for daily care, patients are bombarded with dental ‘health’ information that may in fact be harmful. Kristy Menage Bernie, MS, RDH, RYT, a highly interactive and engaging international speaker and author for nearly 40 years, is the owner of Educational Designs, Inc., maintains a faculty appointment at UCSF and is a founding faculty member of AndyRDHs National Board Review. Kristy has held numerous leadership positions including Treasurer and President of CDHA; she is currently on the review board for the Journal of Dental Hygiene and Chairs the CDHA Student Poster Session. Her passion for ‘data digging’ and research has led her to expose harmful practices promoted on social media and provide clinicians strategies to maximize this new reality.
