Learn to tie a couple of proven warmwater fly patterns with West Michigan's own, Capt. Tom Werkman of Werkman Outfitters. The first will be a top water, finesse-type pattern and the other will be a super deadly streamer that is effective for several warmwater species as well as coldwater species. Register to attend! While registration for tying is limited, feel free to stop in and learn more about warmwater fishing from one of the best. Specific patterns and material lists will be sent out to all registered attendees prior to this event to ensure a great morning of fun!

Tom is a full time guide. He was born and raised in Holland, Michigan and currently lives in Grand Haven. He's a recovering banker, where he spent 30 years lending money to businesses.

He began fly fishing the Grand River 15 years ago, as well as, exploring and fishing its nearby tributaries with his son and business partner, Max.

Tom began his guiding career in 2016, while in his mid-40's. He guides for smallmouth as well as other warm-water species. In addition, he also guides for steelhead and salmon.

In his free time, he enjoys tying smallmouth flies, and chasing after big smallmouth bass from April through November.

Tom enjoys building lasting relationships with his clients, teaching them new tactics and providing tips to help them become better smallmouth anglers. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned angler, you'll enjoy your time spent with him!
