While Autonomous Vehicle technology continues to improve, many of the safety improvements promised by self-driving cars are quietly being gleaned today with the more widespread deployment of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), at least at the lower levels of automation. Tech limitations though will not completely eliminating accidents, but driver assist tech being developed and deployed along the way to full automation have reduced claims, injuries and damages today. We will discuss how much claims investigations into accidents involving such technologies will change… and how much will remain the same, as well as other insurance defense considerations.
