Welcome back! OAPT invites you to join in our spring conference featuring:

Sueann G. Kenney-Noziska, MSW, LCSW, RPT-S

Sueann Kenney-Noziska, MSW, LCSW, RPT-S, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor who specializes in using play therapy in clinical practice with abused and traumatized children, adolescents and their families. As part of her clinical work, she provides outpatient psychotherapy to those impacted by childhood sexual abuse, emotional and physical maltreatment and other traumatic events. Sueann is internationally recognized in the field and is an author, guest lecturer and clinician who has trained thousands of professionals.

Overview of Workshops:

April 27, 2023: Integrative Play Therapy for the Treatment of Childhood Abuse and Trauma

Day One's workshop will explore an integrative approach to using play therapy with victims of childhood abuse and trauma. Research and literature describing trauma's impact on the brain, treatment of posttraumatic stress, and trauma-informed treatment will be reviewed. The use of posttraumatic play and directive play therapy interventions will be discussed. Lecture, experiential activities, group discussion, & case examples will provide participants with a comprehensive learning experience.

April 28, 2023: Integrative Play Therapy for Sexually Traumatized Children and Adolescents

Day Two's workshop will emphasize using play therapy with victims of sexual abuse and trauma. Frameworks for conceptualizing the impact of sexual abuse, treatment components from evidence-based practice models, & play therapy will be integrated to create abuse-informed interventions that are developmentally appropriate & clinically sound. Attendees will receive a variety of directive play therapy interventions which address core components of sexual abuse treatment including psychoeducation, emotional expression, cognitive coping, & trauma narration. Lecture, experiential activities, group discussion, & case examples will provide participants with a comprehensive learning experience.

Continuing education credit for this event is sponsored by the OAPT and Wired To Bloom Therapy & Consulting LLC.The program offers a total of 12.00 contact hours (6 hours per workshop). Play therapy credit may not be awarded to non-mental health professionals. PLEASE BE ON TIME AS CE’ MUST BE ADJUSTED ACCORDING TO CSWMFT BOARD FOR BEING LATE OR LEAVING EARLY

OAPT Cancellation Policy: Registration cancellations for this training, offered on April 27 & 28,2023 must be submitted to OAPT in writing by April 14, 2023, for paying registrants. Cancellations are subject to a $25 processing fee. Substitutions (sending another person to attend this conference) may be made in writing for no additional cost. No refunds are given due to inclement weather. Registration refunds will not be given to participants who register but do not attend. OAPT reserves the right to cancel this training in the event of unforeseen circumstances. If such occurs, OAPT will attempt to notify registrants at least 5 calendar days prior to the event and will refund registration fees.*
