This session will highlight Renee Purdy, an advocate for We Are TB. Renee is currently in treatment for active pulmonary TB disease and will share her experience with diagnosis, treatment, isolation, and returning to society post-isolation. Renee is a Nationally Board Certified teacher in California. She is a mom to a wonderful daughter and an active runner and tennis player.
This didactic will also include a review of current national and WA State TB trends, presented by Kelsey Hewson, an Epidemiologist for the Tuberculosis Program at the Washington State Department of Health. She started working in TB in January of 2021 after graduating from the University of Washington MPH program.
Space is limited. 1 hour of CME/CNE credit from Curry International TB Center, UCSF is available with attendance and completion of the after-session evaluation. Please note: Please register for this special event even if you are already enrolled in TB ECHO.
