CONFERENCE AGENDA

Keynote Speaker: Lisa Terry, MS, M.Ed.

Embedded Learning Opportunities within Everyday Activities and Routines

Lisa provides support for the design and implementation of professional development activities for early intervention providers and administrators in Virginia. She has worked in early intervention for over 10 years as an educator, service coordinator, and clinical supervisor. Lisa is a certified trainer in the Growing Brain, a ZERO TO THREE curriculum. She maintains endorsement in infant mental health as an Infant Family Specialist.

Lisa's presentation is titled Embedded Learning Opportunities within Everyday Activities and Routines. This session will be packed with information on how to support a child’s learning environment naturally. We will consider the factors that impact a child’s behavior and ability to learn. We will explore ways to embed learning within a child’s routines (bed time, trips to the grocery store, etc.) and activities (play using everyday household objects). Participants will leave this session with strategies to increase learning opportunities within everyday routines and activities.
