For over 40 years, Robert Hamilton Owens has encouraged, helped, and mentored many people. He has a passion and calling to see people gain confidence and accomplish much more than they think they can.
Robert wrote the book, “Beyond Average” after living below average for many years and then making a choice to stop thinking average. He was a Special Needs child with bad ankles and feet, and lost his mother at a young age, and more which resulted in his poor self-image and played by himself until 6th grade.
Robert found his escape in Jr. High and high school by drinking, adventure, breaking rules, and a destructive lifestyle. But he also loved the ocean, swimming, water polo, and surfing. His High School coaches and some Pararescue reservists helped him concentrate on his positive attributes and turn his life around.
At the age of 22, Robert became a Pararescueman and became Team Leader for the “Pipeline Training”. He found purpose and fulfillment helping, saving, and rescuing people. From 1975-78, Robert and teammates did rescue work at Mt McKinley as well as did rescue work from Alaska to Hawaii.
From 1978 – 1985, Robert pursued a smuggling career into the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe with inbound Christian Leadership Material and outbound underground political documents. He married in 1980, and has 5 wonderful children. He has done many Ironman Triathlons, has a BA Degree in Theology and Business, and founded a Non Denominational church at the University of Nevada-Reno in 1981. He won the primary for the Nevada State Assembly when he was 32.
Robert had a weekly 1 hour Statewide Leadership Interview TV program on a Local FOX Affiliate and worked with inmates in 5 Maximum Security Prison and Medium Security Prisons in California and Nevada. He also had a one hour call in Radio talk show Program on California Angel Baseball Radio called “Get in Shape and Get a Life”.
In 2000. Robert was appointed to the Nevada State Judicial Ethics Committee overseeing the ethics of Judges and Attorneys in the State. He completed Pepperdine University’s Law School “Dispute-Conflict Resolution Certificate Program” , has spoken to over 5000 high school and university students and businessmen, and became Leadership and Management Consultant and Motivational Speaker for Companies in 30 countries.
