Learning Objectives

  • Participants will gain confidence in detecting a potential neurodiverse diagnosis and making appropriate diagnostic testing referrals
  • Participants will be to utilize appropriate tools, methods and strategies, as well as modifying "old favorites" for this unique population
  • Participants will develop a background in Social Skills Psychoeducation and its importance for youth and adult clients with various disabilities
  • Participants will learn how to create a treatment plan including measureable goals for clients with similar profiles

Mental Health professionals know that often, neurodevelopmental disorders such as Attention Deficit Disorder, Autism, Communication Disorders, and others co-occur with anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions. However, most therapists lack the important foundational understanding and practical knowledge of the appropriate methodology needed to see progress with clients who are neurodiverse.
