Responsibility and Repair: A Conversation with Men

We are excited to invite you to "Responsibility and Repair: A Conversation with Men." This special community conversation will showcase a series of short storytelling videos created by male-identified individuals who participated in Emerge's Men's Education Program (MEP). After the screening of the videos, we will host a panel discussion on the vital role men can play in responding to and eliminating domestic abuse in our community.

Join us on Saturday, April 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Loft Cinema, located at 3233 E. Speedway Blvd. Attendees will have the chance to interact with the panelists following the event.

We are also thrilled to announce the launch of a new Emerge project funded by the Office of Violence Against Women that expands the work of our Men’s Education Program by creating community-based support spaces for men. The project aims to create a community support space and call-in helpline for men in Pima County, who are currently harming their intimate partners or are at risk of harming their intimate partners.  These services will prioritize the safety of survivors by supporting their male partners with identifying safer choices and creating a support network that reinforces responsibility and repair while inviting all men in Pima County to play a leadership role in preventing violence. More details about the community support space and call-in helpline, including how you can get involved, will be provided at the event.

About the Men's Education Program

The Men's Education Program at Emerge seeks to engage men in meaningful conversations about power, privilege, abuse, and violence. This program prepares men to take responsibility for their choices and behavior, stop the abuse, and lead conversations on domestic abuse with other men in the community.

For more information about the event, please contact Josué Romero at communications@emergecenter.org. We look forward to seeing you at the event!
