NAMEPA’s Safety at Sea event will explore the role of shipping during periods of global disturbance with an eye on impacts to mariners, technological advances in cyber security on ships and other risks that we are faced with today. We will also look at emerging and future threats to “normal” operations.
We will be hearing from the USCG as to what safety issues are of greatest concern to them, learn the safety properties of fuels being examined to support decarbonization efforts, tools needed to reduce accidents due to the human factor, and strategies for improving the lives of mariners at sea. The United States Coast Guard will also be presenting the AMVER Awards for industry voluntarism and commitment to Safety at Sea.
