Building Enclosure Quality Assurance is an eight-hour course for professionals interested in field inspections and quality of applications, including material manufacturers, general contractors, quality assurance observers, and field inspectors. This course covers the diverse and challenging aspects of roofing, waterproofing, and exterior walls encountered in the field.

Edward (Ted) Sheridan, P.Eng., RRC, RWC REWC, RBEC 

Ted Sheridan is a professional engineer practising in Ottawa, Ontario.  He is president of Fishburn Sheridan & Associates Ltd., an Ottawa-based engineering firm with 5 offices across eastern Canada, in roofing, building envelope and structural work.  He is a 1983 graduate of the Civil Engineering program at the University of Waterloo, and was recognized as an RCI Registered Roof Consultant in 1992.  He is also an IIBEC accredited Registered Exterior Wall Consultant, Registered Waterproofing Consultant, and Registered Building Envelope Consultant.  He is the current President of IIBEC. Ted has been involved with investigations, assessments, design and field review in over 3,000 roof and building envelope related projects across Canada and in the U.S.  He has lectured on a wide array subjects in roofing technology and building envelope engineering, has published several roof-related articles, and regularly provides technical support to building forensic and legal teams.

Stephen Baxter, RRC, RRO 

Stephen is the Principal of Baxter Roof Consulting Ltd. He is an IIBEC Registered Roof Observer and a Registered Roof Consultant. He started his career in the construction industry working as a Site Superintendent for a General Contractor. There he earned a Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter Certificate. Stephen has consulted on a breadth of projects including both renovations and new construction of hospitals, skyscrapers, schools, industrial facilities and historical buildings. His depth in the industry enables him to communicate with and between all stakeholders during design as well as construction. Stephen strives to be recognized for reasonable and intelligent consultation.

IIBEC Members: $300 + HST

Non IIBEC Members:  $400 + HST

*The 8 CEH certificate will be emailed out 1-2 weeks after the course.

Cancellation Policy

  • Should you wish to cancel your registration, refunds will be issued up to two weeks prior to the course and a $25 administrative fee will apply.  After that time, no refunds will be permitted.  "No Shows" will not receive a refund, however, substitutions are permitted.
  • Should IIBEC Quebec Ontario Chapter cancel the course, we will notify you before April 19th and a full refund will be issued.
