Learn to Teach Mindfulness to Youth

This training Intensive combines the understanding and practice of body awareness, breathing, listening, labeling emotions and thoughts, self-compassion, and loving kindness into practical lesson plans and daily activities for children and youth. The program is designed for classroom or special education teachers and mental health professionals working with pre-school, primary and secondary school age levels. Training will occur through experiential practice, reflection, discussion and peer practice. Participants will have opportunity to first observe and model teaching a variety of mindfulness and practice with each other with supervision and guidance from instructors Dr. Rita Benn and Kristin Ervin (a certified Mindful School’s Instructor).

On August 8th(1pm-5:30pm) the Institute opens with a half-day retreat to offer new comers exposure to the fundamental practices and principles of mindfulness and those with an established practice the opportunity to refresh and dive deeper.

On August 9th and 10th, (8:00am-5:30pm) the 2-day training Intensive will focus on facilitating the skills for participants to gain confidence in offering mindfulness practices with children and youth. At the end of the program, participants will be able to implement effective mindfulness activities in both the classroom and clinical settings.

This event is limited to 50 participants, so we suggest you register early.
