Considerations in Cross-Border Wealth Planning
Speaker(s):
Program Description:
There is a large and growing demographic of professionals living and working outside of their home country. Many of these people are coming into or out of the United States, which can lead to a far more complicated personal financial situation due to unique tax and reporting laws. This is compounded by a lack of credible resources to turn to for help and advice.
In this presentation, we will address the main areas of confusion among these cross-border professionals, answering a number of the most common questions and challenges, and offering an opportunity for Q&A.
Learning Objective(s):
Financial topics to be discussed include:
- Regulatory framework around banking and investments for global families
- 401(k), pensions, and other retirement savings plans
- Saving and investing for a worldwide future
- Real estate decisions – property in the U.S. and abroad
- Issues in tax planning - U.S. and international
- Cross-border estate planning
*This topic has been approved by the CFP Board for 1.0 hour of CE credit.
