Join ODVN's Quarterly Youth Advocacy Caucus as we spotlight Ohio’s domestic violence programs that elevate youth-centered and family programming efforts. Let’s discover how they create innovative programming that supports youth and families residing in shelters and community-based support groups. Our presenters include:

  • Courtney Chambers, Family and Youth Service Coordinator from the YWCA of Greater Cincinnati will speak about her work with youth and families residing in shelter. Participants will hear Courtney share how she designs youth and family programming that helps youth to feel included.

  • Selena Campbell, Shelter Coordinator, and Bethany Briggs, Legal Advocate from Tri-County Help Center will touch on their progress throughout the community with the Sargus Support Group and Future Stories Support Group. Additionally, they will speak about how Peg'sHouse"tailors" work with families and youth in the shelter, overviewing how to structure case/care management to support shelter families.

  • Robin McNeal, Teen Advocate at Turning Point, will detail how Turning Point created a family summer respite program in both Marion and Delaware, which utilizes staff and volunteers to facilitate activities for the children and give parents a break in their day. Audra Newland, Children’s Program Coordinator, and Doryan Miller, Teen Advocate at Turning Point, will also highlight their work in the shelters and schools.
