Please join us for this interactive, virtual workshop
People who batter within their family set the stage for their family members to enter services scanning for danger, concerned for their safety, and likely responding in trauma reactions. Understanding these complexities aids advocates in meeting youth and families “where they are at” and providing survivor-defined advocacy.
In this workshop, participants will practice using trauma-informed responses to support adult and child survivors through emotional distress, difficult interactions, and challenging situations. Participants will combine active listening skills along with empathy to create genuinely safe spaces for domestic violence survivors to make informed decisions and achieve their goals.
Noteworthy: Please join with the expectation of participating and talking with one another, risking thoughts, trying ideas during role-play and scenarios, and breaking into small group work over Zoom. If you participate and wish to receive CEUs you will need to demonstrate your participation with cameras on, engage in conversation, and actively participate in small group work.
