CT-AIMH 6-day Home Visitor Training Series 

CT-AIMH is excited to offer this 6-day Infant Mental Health (IMH) training series specifically for Home Visitors working with infants, toddlers, young children and their families.

The goal of the training series is to help home visitors view the families they are partnering with through an Infant Mental Health (IMH) lens, with a focus on the importance of early relationships. 

                       The sessions will be held on the following Tuesdays:                      

August 1, 2023 In-Person at the Glastonbury Boat House, in Glastonbury CT 9:00am- 4:00pm

August 8, 15, 22 & 29, 2023 Virtual on ZOOM 9:00am- 4:00pm

 September 5, 2023 In-Person at the Wethersfield Librbary, Wethersfield CT 11:00am-3:00pm

  • We urge attendance at all six days of training to enjoy the full benefit of the series. 
  • Lunch will be provided on August 1st and September 5th.
  • Certificates of Attendance will be provided.
  • There is NO FEE to attend.

After attending this IMH training series, Home Visitors will have:

  • Reviewed many IMH competencies that can help lead to an IMH Endorsement®*
  • The opportunity to apply for a scholarship to pursue IMH Endorsement®.  Scholarships will cover both the application and processing fees. ($40 Max) One year memebership will also be paid ($50)
  • The opportunity to apply to participate in a Reflective Supervision/Consultation group (meets 2 hour/month,for 12 months) 
  • Learned the essential skills and strategies for Home Visiting 
  • Wondered about observations of the caregiver/child attachment relationship, to help support the families they serve
  • Learned how brain development and trauma might impact infants and toddlers
  • Learned 3 key stages of Infant/toddler development and view behavior through this lens 
  • Learned the significance of culturally responsive practice and racial equity
  • Had the opportunity to reflect more deeply on all of the relationships that are developing
  • Learned about infant/toddler temperament
  • Learned self-care strategies that can support them within the context of their work, their personal life, and within their community 
We are grateful for the funding for this series, which comes from OEC/Preschool Development Grant, 0-5
