The Lawn Conversion Program for Conservation Districts is financed in part by a grant from the Community Conservation Partnerships Program, Environmental Stewardship fund, under the administration of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation and Conservation.
This in-person training will provide conservation district staff with the training needed to efficiently offer lawn conversion programs in their counties.
Ryan Davis, Senior Forest Projects Manager with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, will discuss the importance of lawn conversion projects, how to install them, and lessons learned along the way. Ryan will guide participants on a tour of the lawn conversion projects located at the golf course where we'll be meeting.
Please join us to learn more about lawn conversion! It is encouraged to attend the training before applying for a sub-grant.
Appropriate for all conservation district staff who will be working with lawn conversion projects in their county.
Registration is free and required. Due to the limit of 35 attendees, registration is limited to two individuals per district. The registration deadline for in-person training is June 23, 2023.
Registrants are responsible for making their own overnight reservations. It is encouraged to make reservations early.
