Course Topics

The modules listed below make up the 36 hours of course work required for the “Fundamentals” certification. Certificates are awarded upon completion of all 36 class hours AND passing of the Fundamentals Certification Exam.

  • Principles and Best Practices of Code Enforement (12 hours)
  • Property Research & Ownership (8 hours)
  • Legal Aspects of Code Enforcement (8 hours)
  • Ethics (4 hours)
  • Verbal Communication Skills (2 hours)
  • Report Writing (2 hours)

 

Exam Requirements
October 13, 2023 | 1:30pm-3:30pm (ET)

After attending the required 36 hours of classes, Code Enforcement officers must successfully pass an examination in order to receive certification in “Fundamentals of Code Enforcement.”

       FACE Fundamentals Certification Exam

Hotel Information

A small block of hotel rooms has been reserved (from Sunday evening, Oct. 8th through Friday morning, Oct. 13th) at the Best Western Gateway Grand, 4200 NW 97th Blvd, Gainesville, FL 32606, with a special room rate of $98 per night for code officers (w/ advanced registration prior to hotel cutoff date of Sunday, September 24, 2023.)

 

Additional Information

REGISTRATION: You will be registering and paying for the class and the exam at the same time. AFTER you submit your registration form, you will receive an auto-generated email with a secure credit card payment link embedded within. After you click on the secure payment link, go to Certifications > FACE Certifications > and under Items, select the correct class. Registrations are confirmed only after payment is received which must be prior to the payment deadline of Friday, September 22, 2023.

REFRESHMENTS: Coffee will be provided in the morning but refreshments and lunch are on your own each day.

CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION: You will receive a confirmation letter from the IOG at FSU upon registration and payment of CLASS & EXAM fees.

IMPORTANT POLICY NOTE: No person may attend F.A.C.E. training or take an exam if approved payment has not been made prior to the registration deadline.

REFUNDS: Must be requested in writing and received no later than ten business days prior to the first day of the classes (i.e., Friday, September 22, 2023). Fees will be refunded less a $75.00 administrative charge. All monies are forfeited beyond this date. Non-attendance does not constitute a withdrawal or refund request. We reserve the right to cancel the classes; in that case, the registration fees will be refunded in full.
