Join fellow industry colleagues and the members of PLAN on Thursday, June 22 for a day of networking and education, along with a highly anticipated baseball game with the Yankees and the Mariners, at Yankee Stadium! Our program begins with lunch and will include an afternoon of timely presentations and education. Our day will conclude with watching the Yankees battle it out with the Seattle Mariners.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Today's Legal and Insurance Profession

Description: The legal profession is generally perceived as behind other professions when it comes to diversity and inclusion. However, change is afoot. Many law firms have increased efforts in participating in diversity and inclusion programs. Our presenters will explore what diversity and inclusion efforts are now required by clients, how programs like Mansfield Cerification, Human Rights Campaign and NAMWOLF have positively impacted the legal profession, and how to avoid reverse discrimination arising from diversity and inclusion efforts.

Description: The terms "social inflation," "reptilian tactics," and "nuclear verdicts" are all of the buzz the past few years, in some cases eventually paving the way to legislative changes. But, what can be done in the day-to-day to best defend and guard against these cases and their potential "nuclear" outcomes? This session will discuss what lies at the heart of these cases as well as targeted defense strategies and risk management techniques to help mitigate the risk of a runaway verdict and "slay the lizards".

You must be present at all sessions to receive full Continuing Education credit. Continuing Legal Education credits will be based on the total amount of time attended. Late arrival or early departure will jeopardize the amount of credits you receive but will not preclude entrance into the sessions.
