This new virtual workshop provides an overview of Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) with the help of our Therapy Dogs! Learn how AAT can be incorporated into a variety of rehab settings. Plus now that we are virtual, your dog can participate also!

- Definition and benefits of Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) in rehabilitation settings
- On-site vs visiting vs virtual AAT
- Therapeutic applications including assistance, resistance, balance, cognition, posture, responsiveness, distraction, reading, AROM, task sequencing, and breath control
- Documenting skilled intervention and goals incorporating AAT
- Training a Therapy Dog: Obedience, balancing calmness and friendliness, exposure to different situations, and the importance of canine fitness
Instruction level: Basic to Intermediate
4.0 CE contact hours (IL) --- Duration 3.33 hours
