Title: Trust Beneficiary and Beneficial Ownership Reporting in Canada

Daniel will review the framework in Canada for the reporting of beneficial ownership transparency, principally in regard to trusts and private corporations.  Practical examples will be looked at that discuss emerging issues such as what qualifies as a trust and is therefore subject to the reporting obligations, and such as the uncertainties regarding reporting obligations of discretionary trust beneficiaries.  Tips aimed at efficient compliance will also be looked at.  These are compelling issues in light of the beneficial ownership reporting registers continuing to develop worldwide.
