Spotlight on Farmworkers

This year's Behind the Line program spotlights and elevates farmworkers in Sonoma County. The goal is to bring our community together and shine a light on the unacceptable housing and health conditions farmworkers face throughout our County. Ramon Meraz from Generation Housing (and Los Cien Board Member) will facilitate the evening.
The program will include a screening of a short film narrated and directed by award-winning photojournalist Erik Castro, “Farmworker Housing.” This film, presented by Generation Housing, examines the deplorable housing conditions faced by many farmworkers, demonstrating the urgency of affordable housing.
The program will feature a Campesino panelist presentation, including Veronica Melendez, Directing Litigation Attorney for California Rural Legal Assistance (CRLA) Foundation, who will be joined by farmworker heroes. Cecilia and Adan will speak about farmworkers’ experiences in the agricultural field of labor and how their employment serves to sustain themselves and their families.
