Designing Basics for a Xeriscape Garden

Sign up today for Fort Collins Utilities’ free in-person landscape design class to learn how you can save water by transforming your outdoor space from grass to gardens. Learn from Deryn Davidson how to design a low water and sustainable landscape. Students will learn the basics principles of design, how to do an analysis of their site, how to start planning their outdoor space and some plant suggestions to get started. Fort Collins Utilities customers are eligible for funding for xeriscape projects through the Xeriscape Incentive Program:  www.fcgov.com/xip

Deryn Davidson 

Deryn Davidson holds a B.S. in Horticulture from CSU and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Arizona. While in Arizona she worked designing rainwater harvesting systems and educating the public on rainwater harvesting strategies for the City of Tucson. She has a passion for native plants and pollinators that grew during her time as a horticulturist at the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, TX. Currently, Deryn is the CSU Extension Sustainable Landscape State Specialist and runs programs focused on supporting public and private efforts to create more sustainable and resilient landscapes across the state.
