On May 10,2023, Senate Bill 1718 (SB 1718) was passed by the Florida Legislature requiring that Florida's private employers with 25 or more employees us the federal E-Verify system to confirm prospective employee's authorization to work in the United States. SB 1718 also provides steep penalties for employers who are found in violation of its requirements.
